Protection and rescue: hydraulic spreaders
Rescuing people and animals from trapped spaces caused by accidents or natural disasters requires high forces of up to 1000 bar / 15000 psi to move the large loads. To act with agility, the rescue workers must be able to use the hydraulic tool as quickly and reliably as possible with maximum portability. Hydraulic tools operated by axial piston pumps and high-pressure valves such as spreaders or cutters enable rescue workers to act quickly and effectively.
In hydraulic tools, high demands are placed on safety, ergonomics and the generation of strong positioning forces, and this is mostly in cutter or spreader functions. The same or similar products are often used for special tactics applications by the police or special units as well as in special task forces. The two requirements of ergonomics and strong positioning forces can be combined with hydraulics in the form of drive technology with high-pressure solutions up to 1000 bar / 15000 psi.
With high-pressure hydraulic solutions up to 1000 bar / 15000 psi, a cutter can be used to cut thick metal plates or columns, for example. The use of an axial piston pump not only minimises the installation space under high pressure up to 1000 bar, but also reduces noise emissions. Due to the lower noise emissions and the high force exerted, rescuing people and animals is faster and safer with the hydraulic tool. Another advantage of the axial piston pump is its high speed range, which makes it possible to design the hydraulic tool with a variable drive for different positioning speeds.
Another hydraulic tool used alongside the cutter is the spreader. Thanks to the spreading movement, the spreading tool is used, among other things, to break open doors or to lift vehicles involved in accidents and concrete slabs.
The spreader places comparable demands on ergonomics, whereby maximum positioning forces are achieved with a pressure of up to 1000 bar / 15000 psi in the opposite direction of movement, allowing the rescue workers to act quickly and effectively with the hydraulic tool.
With the BIERI valve range up to 1000 bar / 15000 psi, various valve functions provide the safety and control for hydraulic tools. Valves in a leakproof design are usually used to maintain and control the pressure or to limit the pressure.
The use of our high-pressure components increases the safety of the hydraulic tools and the axial piston pump works reliably and efficiently at high pressure.
The lightweight Micro Power Units are carried right in the rescue workers' backpacks and provide the hydraulic tool with the necessary force and reliability up to 1000 bar / 15000 psi.
