The introduction of FKM as the standard sealing material enables us to implement leaner processes in the assembly line and in the supply chain. Consequently, higher costs can be compensated and price increases can be avoided. For special requirements such as low temperature applications of below -20°C, we will continue to offer our products with the option of NBR seals. In future we have to offer these at additional cost.
Besides the advantages in the cost structure, the material FKM, also known under the trade name Viton®, offers some technical advantages, e.g. better compatibility with biodegradable oils. Additionally operation temperatures of up to +200°C are possible.
