Grease Lubrication Technology
Lubrication systems are used in the lubrication of ball bearings, chains, linear guides and where metal is sliding with metal, as is the case with railway lubrication systems. A distinction is made between manual and automatic lubrication.
Automatic lubrication and dosing systems ensure that the right amount of lubricant reaches the right lubrication point at the right intervals, minimizing friction and wear while optimizing the durability of equipment and machinery. The advantages of automatic lubrication systems are:
- Up to 50% savings in lubricant costs thanks to precise timing and precise dosing.
- Less downtime and loss of production coupled with considerable savings in repair and spare parts costs.
- Reduced noise.
For example, stationary rail lubrication systems significantly reduce noise emission and furthermore reduce the wear on rails, points and wheels.
Switching valves are an indispensable part of modern lubrication systems, both for railway lubrication systems and for progressive distributor systems. They ensure that the system can be divided into sections. By switching on or off the respective sections precise timing and precise dosing of the highly viscous lubricant can be ensured.
BIERI WVM 4B-Bi valves, also known in the industry as grease valves, are the reliable solution for selecting and / or switching off the lubrication points or lubrication sections used.
The valves can be installed on the lubrication power pack or decentrally near the lubrication sections /points.
Various constructions:
- Individual valve housing
- Modular linking block system
- Customized special block on the power pack
- Customized special block directly flanged onto the progressive distributor
High-pressure lubrication systems must also reliably sustain the highly viscous lubricant even at low winter temperatures down to -40 ° C. Working pressures up to more than 500 bar should be handled safely and the system must work reliably even during extended periods. It is therefore imperative that the solidification of the grease in the switch valve interior is prevented. Our valves WVM-4B-Bi have been particularly designed to cope with these challenges.
